We reported that Facebook has brought Gowalla(Location Based App, foursquare competitor), but we didn’t have any news about, if the Facebook Places will be merged or maybe a Standalone Facebook Location App will come out, like what happened to Facebook Chat or may be something different.
While one of our team member was editing Facebook Places, we came across some of the places tagged with gowalla updates, which included Gowalla type images, below is one of the examples.
See the logo for the second item? it looks like the icons for Gowalla, also, the tagging which reads Landmark are a lá Gowalla.
So first traces are being seen of the Gowalla Facebook deal and we were thinking that this was a deal just to acquire the talent from Gollawa.
We will cover more aspect of this story as and when we find more details. But till then, you guys would have to wait and watch what happens next.
