It is fairly simple to identify a iPhone 2G
Here are some identification traits
– Silver back casting
– Metal back cover
– Memory capacity 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB
– Â iPhone 2G: A1203 Â (look for this number at the back of your iPhone)
iPhone 3G and 3Gs look the same, but there are some differences
Similarities:
– Hard plastic back casing with avail colors ( black and white )
Differences:
iPhone 3G
– Memory capacity 8 GB and 16 GB only
– Â iPhone 3G: A1241 Â (look for this number at the back of your iPhone)
– Gray writing (on back) = 3G
iPhone 3GS
– Memory capacity 8GB, 16GB and 32 GB
– Comes with 3.0+ version
– Â iPhone 3GS: A1303(look for this number at the back of your iPhone)
– Silver writing (on back) = 3GS
Also 3GS has a standard video feature and 3G hasn’t. Also there is a Standard Auto-focus feature on the iPhone 3GS which isn’t available on the 3G.
