About 2 months ago I moved from an iPhone to the world of Android, to give Android a chance, and I could sync my contacts via Gmail without any problems, I could also sync my GMail emails easily, the problem was when I had to Sync my me.com or mac.com email, there are no explicit guides on how to go about configuring me.com email on Android phones or for that matter, even Outlook or any other client.
Here is how you can setup and configure me.com email to an Android Phone
Step 1: Open Mail App on your Android Phone and enter your credentials and hit Manual Setup
Step 2: Click on IMAP for the Account Type
Step 3: For Incoming Server Settings, enter your entire EMail ID and Password, along with the following details
Step 4: For Outgoing server settings, use the below settings
Step 5: Configure how and when you want your emails to be synced
Step 6: Give a name to this account and your Display Name
Wait for the Sync
Voila! You @me.com email Appear!
Few of the users may have trouble configuring the email with the above setting, here are some workaround
- Trying changing the incoming mail server setting to p07-imap.mail.me.com or p01-imap.mail.me.com or p03-imap.mail.me.com
- In the outgoing mail setting, in the username section, just enter the handle, without @me.com or @mac.com
- In the outgoing mail setting, in the server setting enter, smtp.mail.me.com
Follow the workaround ONLY if your configuration is throwing an error. else you’re good to go, if you did a different trick, do let us know, we could share it with others too. You can use these settings to Sync me.com, mac.com icloud.com emails to your Windows Phone, Windows PC or any other devices you wish to get the me.com emails
