Galaxy Nexus uses MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) to transfer to and fro data from the Windows machine or a Mac.
When you first download the App, Android File Transfer, to transfer the data, you may notice that your PC or Mac will say, “No Android device found: Please connect your Android device with a USB cable to get started.”
There is a very simple solution to this problem for Galaxy Nexus and other Android Phones around relying the MTP for data transfer.
