The budget Smartphone segment in India is one of the hottest selling segments in the Indian marketplace. If you are out to buy a budget smartphone ranging between Rs. 5,000 Rs.6, 000, you will get a wide range of offerings. There are more than a dozen of Android Smartphones in this price bracket from many leading brands including the South Korean Samsung and Indians like Micromax and Karbonn.

Nokia Asha Smartphones, which run on Asha platform 1.1 Operating System, gives an appreciable competition to the others in the segment. Earlier, Nokia had launched a couple of smartphones in the Asha series, which are still doing great in terms of sales figures. Following which the manufacturers are all set to launch a couple of new Asha smartphones in Indian market. Nokia Asha 502 is one of them. This smartphone is available at a price tag of around Rs. 5, 700 which is a great pocket friendly option.

Nokia Asha 502 sports a 3-inch QVGA LCD Capacitive Touch Screen display which produces a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels at a rate of 133 pixels per inch. It produces only 256K colours; hence you can’t expect a very brilliant display performance from the phone.

This Dual SIM phone is supported with 64MB RAM for smooth performance. It runs on Nokia Asha platform 1.1 which features many useful apps and entertaining games. Nokia Asha 502 houses a 5 megapixels rear camera coupled with LED flash. The rear camera can record videos at a rate of 15 frames per second. However, this phone lags a secondary camera.

Nokia Asha 502 features accelerometer and proximity sensors. For storing your music, videos, images and other data, this phone can load an external MicroSD of up to 32GB. The connectivity options of Nokia Asha 502 include Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP and slam feature, GPRS with EDGE, WI-Fi, USB, MicroUSB 2.0 and 3.5mm Audio Jack. This smartphone is fuelled by 1010mAH battery which promises up to 13.7 hours of talk time and 24 days of standby time.

Nokia Asha 502 faces a tough competition from Samsung Galaxy Star Pro, which packs many more features when compared. Also, few offerings from Xolo, Micromax and Karbonn are also a tough competitor in the price segment. However, Nokia Asha 502 packs an appealing body design with crystal clear case and is available in six vibrant colors, which is targeted towards young buyers. If you are looking for a non Android budget smartphone, Nokia Asha 502 is worth a look.
