Run your Blackberry in Safe Mode – Disable non-responsive Application or Theme

How many times do you come in to a situation where your Blackberry is unresponsive due to an Application/Theme you recently installed on the phone.

I’m sure you are in the same thought, “How do I uninstall the app and get the phone up running smoothly.” but you can’t because, either the phone is not responding properly or stuck on a screen, you can try pulling tha battery out and re-inserting it to restart the phone, but at times even that doesn’t resolve the problem.

Don’t you wish you had a Safe mode on the Blackberry, much like, the ones on a Mac or a Computer, well the Good news is, there IS a Safe mode built in to the Blackberry which when enabled started the phones with the bare minimal.

Only the core functions are available, like, call, sms, bluetooth, etc. any applications that are installed additionally are not loaded, once in the safe mode you can find the application/theme and uninstall it.

Tip: If you don’t know the application or theme causing the problem, we would recommend to uninstall all recently used apps, if that doesn’t work, restore back to the latest backup.

Here is how you can get your Blackberry in Safe Mode

  1. Remove the Battery
  2. Insert Battery back on
  3. While the phone powers up HOLD DOWN THE BACK Button
  4. The device will now power on prompting you to continue in safe mode or reset
  5. Click ‘Ok’ and now you are in “Safe Mode”
