Someone on my friend list on Facebook just pinged me sometime back and I saw something different than usual. Not only he was using his mobile to chat with me (the mobile icon on chat), but it also displayed the location he was at.
I don’t know if it’s rolled out for everyone, but when DNetZoners tried to duplicate it, it didn’t work, so maybe my Facebook profile is in the close beta and I get to try all the new features before anyone else.
So, here is how it looks like
As you can see, it says “Sent from Andheri” that’s a place here in Mumbai.In addition to that it also shows a Mobile icon besides the location tag.
Smart move we think, now, the only way to disable it on your phone is to disable location sharing on your Facebook Chat application. Else the next time you fake about your location in Chat, the other person would know before you know that he/she knows it, eh??
