So you are fed you of changing the location to install a software/program, there may be various reasons you choose to do this, either you Windows drive is empty, or you do this as part of a security testing method to install the application at the default location or maybe you just want to install a few software on a separate location.
Well, you’ve come at the right place to get all the information you need about how to go about changing the default installation drive in Windows 7.
Typically, the  Windows 7  system is installed on drive C and the default installation path is  C:/Program Files. However, You can change it permanently here is how:
1.  Run the  regedit. Press [Windows+R], the type  regedit  and hit enter.

2.  Find the  ProgramFileDir  path in  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion. Click on the CurrentVersion to show it.

3.  Edit the  ProgramFileDir  value to the location you would like your installations to happen
4. Hit the Ok button and you are done!
