In today’s world, hands would certainly feel empty if your phone is not a smart one. Built & Design

Built with the dimensions of 121.2 × 62.7 × 10.6 mm and weighing 121 g, the Samsung Galaxy Star Pro mimics its galaxy siblings in design and interface. Also known as the S7262, it is powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Li-ion battery having a capacity of 1500 mAh, 370 hours stand-by, 26 hours music play and 900 minutes talk time.


The device comes with a 4 inch TFT capacitive touch screen of 480 × 800 pixels resolution and 16 million colours along with the feature of multi-touch.


The Dual SIM S7262 runs on a 1GHz Cortex-A5 processor with 512 MB RAM and an internal storage of 4 GB. In addition to the internal memory capacity, it also supports microSD type external storage up to 32 GB of memory.


Running on the Android 4.1 Operating System, the phone though does not support java (supports only via java MIDP emulator) nor does the browser support flash which is one of its major drawbacks.

Camera & Connectivity

It sports a 2 MP primary camera of 1600 × 1200 pixels resolution, with zooming and video recording, enabled. The primary camera is not equipped with flash feature. And no, there is no secondary camera either. But the device is GPRS and EDGE enabled. It also complies with wireless LAN with the features of Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi hotspot. And Bluetooth? Yes, that too v4.0 along with microUSB v2.0 port and 3.5 mm jack, though this model of galaxy series does not support 3G, GPS or IRDA as a turn down.

Additional Features

Some of the noting features of the Samsung Galaxy Star Pro are inclusive of the SNS integration, MP4/WMV/H.264 player, organizer, image/video editor, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, Youtube, Calendar, Gtalk, Picasa, Document viewer, voice memo/dial and predictive text input along with MP3/WAV/eAAC+player. Furthermore the device instils SMS in threaded view, MMS, Email, Push Email, IM with HTML browser and accelerometer.

So far, the Samsung Galaxy Star Pro or S7262 is available in the markets in only two colours white and black. The phone may lack some of the impressive features which its siblings gloat of, but compared to the reasonable price at which it sells with all the aforementioned features, it might just be ideal changeover to smart phones for all.
