2012 April Fool Pranks lists from Google, GoRo, 8Bit Maps, Gmail Tap and more

The day of the Trollers has arrived and Google doesn’t want to leave any stones unturned. It has several prank up it’s sleeves and we are listing all of them here. Some of the ideas sound really awesome if they are implemented.

8Bit Google Maps

Google is offering Google Maps for Nintendo Entertainment System which are 8 Bit, 8 Bit Maps can be directly used in the NES, LOL, but you can try re-inserting the cartridge 2-3 times before it works

If you want to try it first hand go to, maps.google.com, and click on the ‘quest’ button in the upper right corner of the map to get your current world dressed up in 8-bit fashion, Go to the Street View and get Surprised.

Google’s really Advanced Search

This goes ahead of the current Advanced Search capabilities, it gets options like “rhyming slang for” and the “this exact word or phrase, whose sum of unicode code points is a mersenne prime.” Really Advanced Search even lets you filter by “embarrassing grammatical faux pas” and font.

I have no clue how we survived this long, without it.

Chrome Multitask Mode

You have so many website’s to visit and so less time, presenting the Chrome Multitask Mode, which lets you browse the internet with multiple cursor, Play a game while designing a presentation or even connect more than one mouse.

Google Racing

Sergey himself announced this partnership with Nascar to make a self driven car capable of navigating a track at speeds upwards of 200mph while surrounded by other cars!

He even tried making it legit by featuring in a video with the Nascar

Change the weather on Google

We couldn’t replicate this in Mumbai, India. We however tried from our Sydney Office and Voila, check out the link. Troll those weather freaks.

Gmail Tap

Out of all the pranks this seems the most legit and interesting if this could be into production.

Gmail Tap, taking the standard QWERTY keyboard from 26 keys to just two and using the Morse Code for communication. With Gmail Tap it’s now possible to type without looking and with an option to have two sets of buttons you even type two emails at once! Gmail tap is available now for both iPhone and Android. Here’s how it works

Click to Teleport

This Chrome extension allows customer to direct teleport to the your business location via the ad, Damn, awesome and simply hilarious, but I think this will be possible one day.

This is extemes, Google goes on with a warning as well “Google will not be held responsible for any teleporting related injuries, unexpected time travel or any other teleporting risks, such as those demonstrated in The Fly.

Google Street Roo

With it’s existence presence in Australia, they are taking the Street view to a whole new level, Google will be strapping 360-degree head-on cameras to more than a thousand Kangaroos to reveal what its cars can’t. LMAO!

GoRo

Use mobile internet on Rotary telephone, GoRo aims to fix the problem that 100% of people using rotary phones have, accessing a website. My grandparents will find this particularly useful.Click here to find a Rotary Site developer.

Google Fiber

We all were wrong, Google isn’t working on Fiber optic ultra-fast Internet but rather Fiber Bars, yes dietary fiber. Google’s bars come with 100 times more fiber than any source of fiber available today. Impressive but a sad day for Kansas.

Google Voice for Pets

Now you can record audio directly from your dog or cat’s vocal cords with Google’s own “special Voice Communication Collars”.

What’s more, a tiny micro-LED emitter built into the collar projects a keyboard onto the floor, so your pet can tap their front paws to send text messages. A little far fetched but there’ll be a few numbskulls out there who fall for this one.
