Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could connect your TV with your Android Tablet and Control the Android tablet via a Android Phone or another Android Tablet in the comfort of your Sofa?

How to Control an a TV connected to your Android Tablet via HDMI using your Android Phone

Tablet remote App available on the Android Market, relies on Bluetooth for connectivity and communication with other Android devices and hence has a limitation of range: it is only usable in the bluetooth range.

If you use your Android tablet as a Media device and connect it to your LCD/LED TV using the HDMI Cable, use the above app on both your Android Devices and Voila!

You can send common input like “Back”, “Home”, “Menu” or “Search” to the tablet, control its volume and brightness and also type words. You can navigate in the other device like a DPad and send special command like “Play”, “Next” or “Previous” which is very useful when watching a movie.

Here are the steps you need to perform to have it up and running

1. Download and Install the App on both the Android Devices.

2. Connect the Tablet to the TV using the HDMI cable.

3. For the receiver device (the tablet), go to the “setup” section and make sure the two options “Enable tablet remote in the settings” and “Change the input method for tablet remote”.

4. Now pair the two android devices via Bluetooth. To do so, open Connection screen in Tablet Remote. Now click “Make device discoverable” and then click “Scan devices”.

5. Once done, select the other Android device from the list and then follow onscreen instructions to successfully pair the two devices.

6. Now you will be able to control other Android device.
Click Remote button on the controller device. A screen will appear with playback control buttons. Enjoy you can now control your android device through these buttons.

Oh and your phone doesn’t need to be rooted to use it.
