Apple opened its World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2011 with it’s new OS for Desktops, Laptops and Servers which has more than 250 new features. A few major features were revealed at the event about which you would come to know after the break.

As usual Steve Jobs in his own style started the proceedings with growth of Apple’s market share in recent years. It seems that the Mac  Market  share has climbed  up-to  28 percent whereas PC Market has gone down.

Mac OS X Lion will we available for $29.99 in July 2011.

Here are some of the features of Mac OS X Lion

1. Mac App Store

Mac App store is a built-in out-of-the-box feature on Mac OS X Lion

2. Versioning

Using  Versions  you can save snapshot of your work at any given point in time. You can think of it as Time Machine. Your documents will be saved after every hour and every time you open it. You can revert back with just a click or you can copy paste from other versions to current one.

3. Resume

With Resume  Lion will remember everything about an application. When you will open it again it will appear exactly where you left off even  Window position and settings.

4. Launchpad

Just like iPad you can get instant access to your apps using Launchpad. Swipe your 4 fingers on the Multi-touch Trackpad

5. Mission Control

Using  Mission control you can get easy access to all thing running on your System. As you can see in Screenshot Dashboard, Desktop, full  screen  apps, apps with multiple windows, single windows apps and dock are visible using Mission Control.

6. Fullscreen mode for Application

All apps can be  displayed  as full screen. Multiple fullscreen apps can be swiped using multitouch.
