CEO Tim Cook announced that the S in 4S was not a tribute to the legendary Steve Jobs, but to Indian telecom minister Kapil Sibal.
“Steve in his final days had been thoroughly inspired by the minister’s zeal in making obsolete tablet technology reach millions of Indians who didn’t know any better. In Sibal he saw a little bit of himself – the same smugness, the glib talking ability and staying foolish”.
-Tim Cook
iPhone 4 Steve is a common expression now that the iPhone 4S has been launched, but who would have thought it was in reference to an Indian, moreover, a Minister. Wacky as it gets
Sibal, who launched the world’s cheapest tablet christened “Aakash“,has become the talk of the global technology community ever since he announced the project last year. Aakash is also referred to ask the TATA Nano of the Technology sector.
Extemely strange and hard to swallow news, even as we type it.
