Google’s Haunted Mansion Halloween Doodle spooks the homepage

Google is saying Happy Halloween in a spooky way this year, with a Doodle on their homepage for 2012′s Halloween which features a haunted mansion with an awesome interactiveness, oh and not to forget the mansion is numbered 13.

There are 5 entry gates to the mansion which represent the characters in the word Google. Each gate is interactive, when you click on them there is a sound effect and an animation, The first gate will animate and a Blue Octopus will form a G, Second gate has 2 eyes following your mouse cursor, the third gate has a Ghost which appears from the floor and forms a G, next one is a skeleton which represents L and finally the E is represented by a Smiley Monster Face. The cat jumps out of the trash can outside the house. There is also a crowing crow and a spider to complete the scary picture creating a spooky atmosphere.

Halloween, also called All Hallows’ Eve, falls on the eve of All Saints’ Day. While it has religious significance for some Christians, nowadays, it is observed largely as a secular celebration.

Last year, Google carved Pumpkins and created a time-lapse video.
