Clara Schumann, wife of composer Robert Schumann, trained from an early age by Wieck, had a brilliant career as a pianist from the age of thirteen up to her marriage. In the various tours on which she accompanied her husband, she extended her own reputation beyond the borders of Germany, and it was thanks to her efforts that his compositions became generally known in Europe.
The doodle features Clara Schumann playing the piano with her eight children replacing the two O’s and the second G of the Google logo. The colours of the doodle are in sync with Google’s official logo colours – blue, red, yellow and green, well not it that order.
To celebrate what would have been her 193rd birthday, Clara Schumann has been given the Google treatment in this charming Doodle. Clara Schumann was a German musician and composer and is considered one of the most distinguished pianists of the Romantic era.
“Composing gives me great pleasure…there is nothing that surpasses the joy of creation, if only because through it one wins hours of self-forgetfulness, when one lives in a world of sound.” —Clara Schumann.
